The same high academic requirements and standards of tuition apply throughout the University, so you don't need to worry about certain colleges being 'better' than others. However, each college certainly has its own distinct identity and atmosphere. We think that one of Oriel’s key features is that it has a very friendly and close-knit student community; we are a relatively small college, so it's easy to get to know everyone quickly! There is no typical Oriel student, and new students - regardless of their background or interests - are quickly welcomed into the community.
Prospective students are always welcome at Open Days (these usually take place in June and September, consult the University prospectus or website for further details) and if, having read this prospectus, you feel Oriel is a place you may want to apply to, then the best thing to do is come and visit on one of these dates. Both current students and tutors will be available to show you around and to answer any questions you may have about the college.
